98 years old, unfailing in the office: the story of Maria and the Leva Angelo company

19 abril 2025
Auguri Maria

On April 19 we celebrate a special birthday: that of Maria Scandroglio, founder together with her husband of the company Leva Angelo S.r.l. in Cairate (VA), who is 98 years old. And who, to this day, still enters the office with the passion she always has.

Founded in 1966 by Angelo Leva and his wife Maria, the firm has always remained a family business. Upon her husband's passing, Maria continued to carry on the business together with her daughter Isabella. A small but well-known company in the area, capable of offering a “tailor-made” service for each client: collection and transport of municipal and special waste, management of collection centers and sweeping services, with a radius of action of about 30 km around Cairate.
Driving the vehicles are several men and boys, but the office is all-female: a compact “gynoecium” consisting of Isabella, Maria, two employees and a friend who handles legal matters. All women, all close-knit, all with a desire to work in harmony, in a small space where transparency is at home.

Dulevo has been part of this story for more than 30 years. The Leva company has always chosen our sweepers to ensure quality and reliability in their services. In the past, Isabella had even met -through mutual friendships- the historical owner of our company, the Guareschi family, without initially knowing that they were the very manufacturers of the machines they were already using!

In the following years, the relationship grew stronger. With Alberto Amadei, Area Manager Italy and Ticino, the acquaintance did not get off to the best start: some misunderstanding had created some tension. But it was the overcoming of a complex situation that gave rise to a deep esteem and a sincere friendship. A bond that goes beyond work and that, a few days ago, resulted in a shared cake in the office to celebrate Maria and her incredible energy together.

Our sincerest wishes and thanks go out to Maria today.
For her confidence, tenacity, and for being - always - part of the big Dulevo family.
